Jimmy Durante Children’s/Child Abuse Fund

Brothers:
As your Eastern Regional representative, I am asking you to hold an event to raise funds for one of the Eagles greatest achievements, the Jimmy Durante and Child Abuse Fund.
One of the greatest thrills of my life was to see Jimmy perform at the Grand Aerie Convention in Boston in 1971.
He presented a grant to Rose Kennedy for the school her daughter Rosemary attended. He entertained, without charge, at 14 consecutive Grand Aerie International Conventions, and at many other Eagle gatherings until his death on January 29th, 1980.
Because of his gentle and kind manner, this fund was named after him in 1966.
Let's keep his spirit alive, and continue to donate in his memory.

Note:
The Jail-A-Thon is to raise money for Mel Fry, Grand Worhty Presidents charity which is the Bob Hansen Diabetes Fund.
All donations can be sent to Carlisle Aerie No. 1299, P. O. Box 571, Carlisle, Pa. 17013.
Checks can be made out to the Diabetes Fund.
Each Aerie and Auxiliary that sends in their donation will get credit at the Grand Aerie for their donation.
A list of donors will be sent along with the money.
Hopefully, we will receive all donations in time for the jail-a-thon on January 21at so we can give credit on that day.
