Olean Aerie #616 Home and Family Event
Every year we at the Olean Aerie #616 holds what is called home and family.  This is held on the first Sunday in December and we honor an area firefighter, police officer, teacher, home town builder and one member from the Auxiliary and the Aerie who go above and beyond what is asked.  We also get artwork and essays from the local schools asking the children what "home and family" mean to them and give awards to the ones that have been chosen as the best.
Photos of the event are at: http://www.foe.com/616/family/home.html

November is Home & Family month in the Fraternal Order of Eagles. This was started by Lockport Aerie 825, Lockport, NY. If each gives a little together we can give a lot!

The success of our aerie & auxiliary requires a steady influx of new members. I am sure that those stopping by for a drink like the amenities and atmosphere. I propose for membership someone I will gladly have into my home. So bring your friends to the aerie. Show them what we do. Ask them to join. It’s that simple. We have a real nice operation going on. Great officers, great projects in the works. There is a great future for our Aerie and Auxiliary. A lot of money is going to charity. This is what we do. Our Auxiliary meets the first and third & the Aerie second & fourth Mondays at 6:30PM. Please come share in our progress.
The Auxiliary Garage Sale was a huge success. $405.00 was raised for the Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund. The Aerie will donate $395.00 also, making a total of $800.00 raised from Aerie #2486. Isn’t that great!
The madam president asks that more sisters get involved. You are missing a lot. Your input is very important to us.
SECRETARY’S MESSAGE
For those who might not yet know, member Charlie Straub was elected as a New York State Trustee at the State Convention in Johnstown. Larry Robillard, Past Worthy President of Rensselaer #4446 and a dual member of #2486, was also elected as a New York State Trustee. Cathy Caruso of our Ladies Auxiliary is this years New York State Madam President, naming Helen Myhrberg as State Mother. Yours truly, Tom Hammond was named Mister Eagle and is also serving as Zone #3 Membership Director for the second year. Serving as Big Brother is Larry Robillard.
I am proud to announce that Glens Falls will be hosting the 2006 New York State Spring Conference. A lot of preparation will be needed to make this event a success. We will be looking for volunteers. Hopefully, as always, many of you will step forward and help.
Tom Hammond

07/10/2004 - Memorial Team Practice
The first two are of our new State Aerie President. You have to understand that Danny and I are practical jokers during Memorial Team Practice and this time we got Lucky Thorton (Memorial Team Chairman) really good. Lucky did not realize that Danny was dressed up and he walk past her three times when She asked where Danny was. As you can see from the photo no one could contain their laughter. - Tammy Osmon, State Trustee/NYS Membership Chairman
